Somatic Sex Education
What is Somatic Sex Education?
Somatic Sex Education is rooted in Sexological Bodywork, developed by Joseph Kramer in response to the embodied trauma of the AIDS crisis in queer communities in the 1980s. Somatic Sex Education has grown out of that body of work and is a growing modality that fills the tragic gap left by the avenues available in modern-day medicine to address sexual health concerns that are not only physical, but mental, emotional, and spiritual. Somatic Sex Education practitioners are trained to work directly with the body through coaching, embodiment practice, somatic awareness, empowerment of voice and choice, client-guided touch, trance, and ritual.

As a Somatic Sex Educator, I walk alongside clients on their journey to sexual wholeness. I work to empower choice and voice, to move and soften stuck trauma, to wash away shame, and to invite greater access to erotic embodiment and pleasure. I hold pleasure as a human birthright. I believe that feeling good is good for us. I offer attunement, validation, non-judgement, and celebration. I teach skills and information while holding space for awe, wonder, and mystery.
